Welcome to the Wild Wild Winslow!

Last weekend, our Winslow girls participated in house games and were able to host the community dinner, with a western twist. We all dressed up in our best country outfits and put on a great line dance for everyone. Altogether the community dinner was a success and the whole boarding community enjoyed BBQ ribs, chicken wings, potato salad, and a scrumptious mixed berry crumble. The girls were involved in everything from decorations like saloon doors and cacti to line dancing and yee-hawing.

The full week beforehand was full of preparation as we all anticipated a truly awesome community dinner. Narjes worked extremely hard with Mrs. Doland to make the dinner successful, while many of our girls enjoyed a Friday night dance party/decoration making session in the common room. Later that night, Adrienne brought the house together to make our very own Winslow SMUS Kiki dance video (with help from several Barnacle boys). We also started a Winslow Instagram this weekend, so stay tuned for updates!

For house games we competed in indoor and outdoor soccer, as well as team building exercises. While the atmosphere surrounding these events were competitive, all the Winslow girls worked together, everyone giving it their all, to come out on top. We finished the house games strong, with Winslow leading in house points! Let’s keep it up ladies!

The whole house came together for a great weekend. I am so grateful for the community we have in Winslow this year. From Narjes’s dedication to Dewi’s cookies, I see a sense of family everywhere. Everyone has put in an effort this year to make the house what it is.
