Welcome back to Winslow!

The past couple of weeks have been full of fun activities, reconnecting with friends and house parents, and getting to know all our new Winslow sisters. The Grade 12’s arrived before the rest and went full speed ahead getting the house set up, initiatives in place and of course decorating the house in our lovely panther pink! The energy was high when everyone else began to arrive and new friendships immediately began forming.

Last Sunday, all the Winslow girls—both new and returning—played hard during the House Olympics, the first official house games of the season. As a SMUS tradition, the House Olympics happened to be held on a rainy day. Even in the pouring rain, the girls were determined on having fun and supporting each other.

This year, the edition of the house cheer included the remix of the Pink Panther theme song, an intended banner rip, and an eye-catching pop of color from a yellow smoke bomb. Every member of Winslow was fully engaged and enthusiastic about the various events that had been set up for the House Olympics. One of these activities involved a single member of each team to get shaving cream sprayed on their head to assist in catching the flying Cheetos being thrown at them by the rest of their team. While this game did not count for any House points, all the girls were fully prepared—in varying shades of Winslow pink—for victory. For the first official House Games of the year, Winslow was ready with house spirit and pride in each other and the house.
