Expeditions and Goodbyes

The last week of school has been exciting yet a busy one for some. For the Grade 10s, their expeditions were a fun time exploring different interests and places in Victoria, including going to beaches, riding a Gator, cooking, exploring ways to reduce energy consumption, and more. They have learnt a lot from their experiences, and everyone had a chance to share what they’ve learnt in a presentation after they came back from their expeditions, with the Grade 9s being the enthusiastic audience.

The school also had a grad barbecue to celebrate this year’s graduates last year in SMUS. There was a slip and slide, lots of great food, and it was a great way to relax before exam week starts.

In Winslow, we had our annual Cupcakes and Crowns event on Thursday, where each Grade 12 gets a speech of appreciation and a crown from a Grade 11, and we celebrate with cupcakes and snacks. The crowns were beautiful, and most importantly, dedicated to each Grade 12’s personality and the memories that they have shared with the rest of the house. It was also our time to appreciate our houseparents’ work that they’ve done for us the past year. The event ended with lots of crying and laughter, and it was the perfect moment for the grads to take pictures with the Grade 11s, even though we still have to stay in boarding for just a few more days.
