This Week (Nov. 13-18)
Today, we are very glad to welcome our newest Winslow girl named Rose from Vietnam (the one standing on the right-hand side)! She is a grade 8 student. Rose likes to swim, play badminton, play piano, dance, and act. Welcome to Winslow, Rose!
This Saturday, Jasmine - one of our lovely grade 12 students - organized a service activity for our Winslow house as a Saturday activity. Every girl donated 2 dollars or more to shop for items that people who are in need would want. We were divided in small groups and brainstormed ideas about what to buy. We put our items into a stocking that a service organization named “The Extreme Outreach Society” in Victoria will give out to people who could not afford those essential things.
Congratulations to some of our grade 12 girls who went on the Ontario University tour last week! During this trip, we visited 12 Universities in 7 days, including Ryerson, York, and the University of Toronto. The purpose of this trip is to help us learn more about different programs and some post-secondary options. My favourite part of the trip was exploring Ontario, as well as the city of Montreal in Quebec.
This Friday Business Club hosted a Mafia Game Night in Daily Grind, a student-run cafe. Morgan, Michelle, Caroline, Luna, Sophie and Angelina took part in the game and were so into the game that they haven't even noticed how 2 hours have passsed!
